About half my clients pay for services out-of-pocket and half use insurance. Insurance only covers services related to diagnosable mental health conditions, including many sexual problems. My rate is $150/meeting.
I’m in-network with:
- Aetna
- Commercial (regular, employer-sponsored plans)
- United Healthcare (UHC)
- Commercial (regular, employer-sponsored plans)
- Medica (purchased through marketplace/Healthcare.gov)
- GEHA Government Employees Health Association (as long as it runs through Optum)
- United Community Plan (Missouri Medicaid/MO HealthNet and Kansas Medicaid/KanCare)
- NOT United Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
- Home State Health (Missouri Medicaid)
- Sunflower State (Kansas Medicaid)
- Humana (regular, employer-sponsored plans, NOT Medicare)
Out-of-network:
I can also bill out-of-network benefits for all insurance companies, including BCBS and Cigna. IF your plan includes out-of-network benefits, they’ll reimburse you. This method has worked for many clients over many years. However, you’re responsible to check your out-of-network benefits (my National Provider ID number is 1174891154). I can easily submit claims to them.
I reserve three meetings a week for reduced-rate clients. Please notify me if you’re self-pay and unable to pay my full rate. I usually have a longer waiting list for these meetings. For another reduced rate option with likely immediate openings, you may contact UMKC Community Counseling and Assessment Services
